Agreement between EHang and Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group sets the foundations for a range of potential use cases including city air taxis and last-mile delivery.
Autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) company EHang has formed a strategic partnership with Thailand conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) to establish a joint venture in Thailand for sales and urban air mobility (UAM) operations.
The partnership opens up cross-sector cooperation opportunities for both sides with potential use cases for EHang AAVs in areas such as smart city management, city air taxis, aerial sightseeing and logistics, including last-mile delivery.
Sustainable urban air mobility
The two parties intend to combine their expertise to collaborate on AAV product sales and marketing, regulatory compliance, business development, infrastructure deployment and talent creation for future safe and sustainable UAM operations in Thailand as well as overseas markets.
As a leading tech and innovative multinational conglomerate based in Thailand with investments in 21 countries and economies, CP Group comprises eight business lines and 14 business groups, covering various sectors of agriculture-industry and food, retail and distribution, media and telecommunications, e-commerce and digital, property development, automotive and industrial products and pharmaceuticals.
“EHang’s innovative technologies are of great significance, which can be applied to various fields including tourism, logistics, healthcare, disaster mitigation and agriculture,” said Jiraporn Sudanich, consul-general of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou.

EHang is expanding its footprint in Asian markets with customers and partners in Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia as well as Thailand.
